Detailed information on London Meridian College English and Work Experience Placement Programmes

Our Programmes are offered to EU and non-EU Students.  We offer six unpaid English and Work Experience Placement Programmes at two different levels.   In addition our paid Work Experience Placement Programme in the Hospitality Industry is available in four different course lengths. These Programmes allow students to combine an English course at LMC with the opportunity to practise English in a professional environment linked to their area of study or career aspirations.

The Work Placements are arranged by LMC in partnership with reputable recruitment agencies. We have extensive contacts with companies and other organisations that offer Work Experience and Internship opportunities in a wide variety of fields, such as office work, computer programming, graphic design, law, hotel and catering, banking, accounting and more. LMC inspect and register all organisations offering work placements before students are permitted to start their Placement Programmes. LMC will also try to place students with their preferred employer and in industries of the student’s choice. However, there is no guarantee that LMC will be able to find a Work Placement that suits your requirements.

LMC offers an internationally recognised certification for the student’s Work Experience Placement Programme. Students can achieve a Standard Level or Advanced Level Certificate in Work Experience after completing their Placements. To gain a Certificate, students will be expected to complete an assessment questionnaire for the Standard level and an assessment portfolio for the Advanced level. The Certificate is internationally-recognised and of particular value when students apply for employment.

 This Programme  is open to students from EU countries (Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, The Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom). 
 

 This Programme is open to students from non-EU countries.  If you are from a non-EU country, you need to hold a valid student visa.  Students with a tourist visa are NOT ALLOWED to follow an English Plus Work Experience Placement Programme.   Please note that paid Work Experience is only offered to EU nationals with the exception of the Hospitality Work Experience Placement Programme.
