Student Visa Information: The UK Home Office allows students who are holding a student visa for the duration of their course and work experience, to work and be paid for more than the usual 20 hours as long as the work placement is part of the Sandwich Course and the education institution agrees. All documents should be submitted to LMC a minimum of 4 weeks prior to the start of the work experience. Non EU Students should allow enough time to obtain a student visa in the British Embassy in their country of origin.

University of Cambridge International Examinations Certificate in Work ExperienceThe Certificate or Advanced Certificate in Work Experience is a very good certification for students wishing to make a career in the Hospitality Industry. It is well recognised by the Hotel and Tourism industry and serves as a first-class reference to any employer as it provides strong evidence of an applicant's ability. The file students have to complete and send to UCLES consists of 4 parts; each of them refers to a different aspect of the work. Work: There are 4 questions in which applicants have to describe and reflect on their work experience.
Knowledge: There are 3 parts to this section. Applicants should describe what skills they had to use, what knowledge they acquired and also describe Health and Safety conditions in their work placement. Skills: The 3 skills areas they have to write about are: Communication Skills, Information & Technology Skills and Organisational Skills. Achievement: The employer, with reference to the student, completes the file.
| Students may apply to have their Work Experience recognised with a Cambridge Certificate of Work Experience for an additional fee of £95. This fee is payable anytime before the start of your work placement. Students are entitled to LMC Certificate of Work Experience regardless of whether or not they applied for a Cambridge Certificate of Work Experience. Placement FeeA placement fee is charged for the arrangement of Hospitality Industry work experience. This does not include English Lesson Fees. |
