IELTS Syllabus

All of our IELTS courses cover the four skills that are tested in the exam. They also focus on the exam techniques that contribute towards IELTS success.

 
Listening – Students are tested on a variety of skills including the ability to listen for specific detail, listen for gist & tell the difference between different accents.
 
Reading – Question types include multiple choice, sentence completion, short-answer questions, matching phrases and identifying a writer's attitudes.
 
Writing - Task 1: Students look at a diagram, table or data and must describe the information it presents in their own words.
 
Task 2: Students must write an essay responding to an argument, point of view or contentious issue. The writing is judged on style, accuracy, range, organisation and effect on the reader.
 
Speaking - The Speaking Module consists of an oral interview between the candidate and an examiner, lasting approximately 14 minutes.
